History of Nirmal

Aptly called as the land of toys, the little town of Nirmal is nestled amidst hills and forests of Adilabad, a district in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The little town which occupies a leading place in the handicrafts map of India is Nirmal; the land of crafts and craftsmanship. The specialty of this craftsmanship is the utilization of simple articles, which are available locally in abundance.
The ancient history of Nirmal had glorious past with the overwhelming admiration towards art and culture from the ruling nobility. It has always enjoyed the patronage of ruling nobility and many dynasties of Southern India were very much inclined towards the cultural heritage of Nirmal. The Kakatiyas, The chalukyas, The VishnuKundinis, The Qutubshahis and The Nizams have contributed to the growth of cultural heritage and made it flourish and helped in promotion of the art.

Tips for Tourists

1. Kuntala and Pochera waterfalls will take 1 whole day. Plan your trip in rainy and winter seasons to enjoy the full flow of water.
2. You can stay in any of he Nirmal hotels
3. Hundreds of Private cabs will be available at the forest office. You can take them on rent to visit these places.
4. If you are visiting Basara temple from Hyderabad, go via Nizamabad to Basar. See roadmap. From Basar you can come to Nirmal and then Kuntala waterfalls.
5.Don't forget to buy some wooden toys in Nirmal Toys Emporium for yourself and gifting others.
